What’s covered is a workplace injury. But according to the law, what is a workplace injury? These are injuries that occur while the employee is undertaking tasks that are part of their duties under the terms and course of employment.

Under the law, the following are covered:

These were added to the law in July 1992. These are described as injuries that cause someone to lose their ability to return to work, whether at the company elsewhere, and some can be regarded as permanent disabilities.

- Severe brain injuries evidenced by sensory and behavioral changes, communication changes, among others.
- Total blindness
- Other injuries that render one unable to do any other duties.
